Pressure washing goes by many other names such as jet washing. This type of equipment is a cleaner that forces a high-pressure stream of water through a nozzle.

Instead of relying on high pressure to blast away dirt and grime, soft washing uses a combination of low-pressure power washing and cleaning solutions to clean surfaces. These solutions settle in the layers of dirt, eating them away from the inside. The cleaners then use low-pressure power washers to rinse the surface.

Pressure washing, also referred to as power washing, cleans exterior surfaces with a high-pressure water spray between 1,300-2,800 PSI. Pressure washing is used to remove many of the same stains and buildup that soft washing can, including loose paint, mold, mud, dust, dirt, and grime.

The machine takes in water then pumps it out with any cleaning solution at a high rate of speed, where the water is pressurized into a small but powerful stream. The more powerful the engine and the smaller the nozzle the higher the pressure. For domestic use, most pressure washers are run by electric motors.
